Another good thing about area rugs is that they are both simple to use and easy to maintain. Decorating with them involves nothing more than spreading them on the floor and turning them in the desired direction. Once they are placed, most of the time the only maintenance they need is frequent vacuuming. If a spill should occur, simply blot it clean. Any dirt spots can usually be removed using a dry powder rug cleaner. Occasionally, they may need to be professionally cleaned. When a person is looking for a rug to decorate a room, they should realize that these rugs come in two basic categories. These categories are handmade and machine woven. Handmade area rugs, including hand hooked, hand knotted, and braided are the more expensive of the two.  However, they can also be much more unique those made by machine. Machine woven rugs, although they may not be quite as unique, are often much cheaper while still being beautiful. Either type of rug can be an excellent decorating choice. But whichever type they choose, no home decorator should be without an area rug.
